About the Program
The NCJWA ongoing partnership with the JNF in projects for the well-being of the land and people of Israel dates from the first establishment of NCJW in 1923 by Dr Fanny Reading who was committed to active support and fundraising for the JNF. Since then we are proud that NCJWA projects in partnership with the JNF have contributed to improving Israel's environment and the quality of life for all Israelis throughout the length and breadth of Israel. NCJWA has just completed its most recent project which is an outdoor classroom as part of the JNF's rehabilitation of the Yarkon River and environs, and we are currently considering our next JNF project.
In addition to specific projects, NCJWA is committed to the establishment of forests and to desert reclamation throughout Israel in conjunction with the JNF, and encourages members to commemorate family events by purchasing tax deductible JNF trees throughout the year and on the annual JNF Green Sunday appeals, and supporting the twice-yearly JNF Blue Box campaigns.
