Malka Leifer is the ex-Principal of the Addass School in Melbourne. Rather than face criminal charges relating to the alleged sexual abuse of a number of girls in her charge, she fled to Israel. National Council of Jewish Women Australia met with Israeli Ambassador Shmuel ben Shmuel on June 26, 2017 and raised the issue of her extradition from Israel. Leifer has been exploiting a legal loophole to prevent her return to Australia to face charges for the alleged sexual abuse. This is a matter of great concern to NCJWA.
