Nikki Marczak

Chair, Social Justice Committee

 

Nikki Marczak is Assistant Research Director at the Executive Council of Australian Jewry, the peak national representative body for the Jewish community, responsible for researching, collating, and analysing antisemitism in Australia.

 

She was previously Director of Atrocity Prevention at the Asia Pacific Centre for the Responsibility to Protect, University of Queensland, leading a range of early warning and human rights projects in partnership with government bodies and civil society organisations, particularly in Melanesia.

 

She has also worked closely with persecuted minority groups and genocide survivors, contributing to justice and advocacy initiatives with Yazidi and Armenian communities. She has a particular focus on women’s experiences during genocide, including sexual and gender-based violence.

 

With a Masters in Holocaust and Genocide Studies, Nikki was co-editor of the Genocide Perspectives publication and 2016 Lemkin Scholar with the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute. She has extensive experience in government policy development ranging from Indigenous and multicultural affairs to anti-vilification and hate speech, and domestic violence and child protection.

 

She is a graduate of the 2024 Nahum Goldmann Fellowship leadership program.
